Irfan Hakim

Irfan Hakim is a Software Engineer who is passionate about writing code and devising solutions that would not only help him, but others who could benefit from them. He also believes in, to the best of his abilities, not leaving anyone who follows the same path after him to face the same challenges he has overcome without his complete guidance as to ensure that they would go through them in the same fashion with a breeze, or reach greater heights with the lessened friction.
His past experience has also taught him the importance of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) in enabling access to secure and productive computing for everyone - regardless of their backgrounds. In order to promote this, he has been doing his best to document all of his learnings and experiences in easy-to-digest formats, hoping that it would help others to curate an ideal, secure, and accessible computing experience for themselves and their livelihood, or for those facing the same challenges as him in general.
His current list of expertise includes Scripting (i.e. bash
, python
), Cloud Native technologies (i.e. docker
, podman
), DevOps (i.e. Kubernetes, Helm), and Web development (i.e. Django, Eleventy). One of his pain points include identifying himself or aspiring to be a creative, but at the moment still lacks the skill to truly create something that is his, of creative nature, that he could be fully content with - this includes wanting to be better at creating solutions that is not only functional and sensible, something he is capable of, but also looks pretty and modern. He also wishes to, someday, be able to create a video game of his own - which he sees as an opportunity to truly get himself involved in deeply creative works as it would require not only logic, but creating his own (visual) assets, accompanying sound effects/tracks, story writing, and so on.
Working is not his sole passion though, as he finds it extremely important to keep a healthy work-life balance, as it is unfortunately easy for him to find himself overworking - especially when he is deep in the process of creating or devising something (out of passion or necessity). His (off work) interests include video gaming, watching movies and TV shows as he often finds them inspiring and effective in re-energising and boosting his creative juices, and also in learning new things to add to his skill set or general knowledge - comprising of topics based on Science, IT, Culture, and Language. He also wishes to partake in a more active lifestyle as he deeply enjoys activities such as walking, cycling, and swimming though it is not as easy for him due to the suboptimal public infrastructure and climate environment of where he is currently located, especially as someone with a particularly irritating skin condition called Eczema.
